Welcome to the Quad Cities Food Shelf!

We are a nonprofit food distribution organization located in Mt. Iron. AEOA is our 501c3 sponsor. Open to the public two days per week, we provide over 56,000 pounds of nutritious free food per month to over 750 households in our community. Neighbors helping neighbors. People helping people. This is what we are all about.

Except for one part-time position, all work at the food shelf is done by volunteers. Some pack boxes and help customers, some keep the building clean, some load and unload trucks, and all of them come because they enjoy the comradery of doing meaningful work in a friendly environment.

With the money we raise, we purchase food through The Emergency Food Assistance Program and Second Harvest Northland and pride ourself on keeping costs well below grocery store rates. Donations from local stores make up a large and vital part of the food that we are able to offer and this is often supplemented by food drives and individual donations. Without the great generosity of this community, our level of service could not be sustained.
